Chakra Insight
The word chakra comes from Sanskrit and means wheel or circle. Many religions and spiritual cultures believe that the 7 chakra's make up the bodies centre of energy, which life energy flows through. There are 7 points on the body to which each chakra relates and when the 7 chakra's are balanced and aligned, it is believed that the energy flows freely promoting optimal physical, spiritual and emotional well being. Likewise closed or blocked chakra's prevent the energy from flowing through which causes a build up.
Each Chakra has its own colour and is located in a specific area of the body and is associated with specific properties that provide subtle energy that helps our organs, mind and emotional state . For example the root chakra located in the base of the spine and is usually black or red is associated with security, grounding and stability. If your root chakra was to become blocked you could experience increased feelings of anxiety and fear or feel insecure, and physically you could develop lower back pain or digestive issues.
Like with crystals there is no scientific evidence to support their existence but chakra balancing or unblocking activities like meditation and yoga have been proven to have a positive effect on a persons emotional well being, due to the relaxation and calming techniques practiced.
